New Bern Post covers New Bern, North Carolina.

Founded in 1710, New Bern is the state’s second oldest city. It was the last colonial capital and the first state capital.

New Bern Post started in October 2017 by Randy Foster, a long-time journalist who landed in New Bern in 2009 to become editor of the city’s daily newspaper, the Sun Journal. He resigned in protest over staffing cuts and started New Bern Post a day later.

New Bern Post is updated throughout the week with news and information that is useful, interesting, and important to New Bern residents.

New Bern Post’s target audience is people who are concerned about their community. There are four types of content on this site: staff-written news stories, community-submitted news, opinion, and advertising.
