USCG Auxiliary offers Navigating Local Waters course

Boating is a lot safer when you know the waters you’re in. The New Bern area U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will offer their most popular course, Navigating Local Waters,  Saturday, May 18, 8:30 a.m. at the Fairfield Harbour Community Center, Broad Creek Rd, New Bern.

While the emphasis is on the Neuse and Trent Rivers and other waters around New Bern, the seminar also presents the locations and features of many popular anchorages, marinas and boatyards in the Neuse and Pamlico river basins, as well as the ICW to Morehead City/Beaufort and on to Cape Lookout. The charge is $10 per person with additional members admitted free. This includes a CD packed with charts and local information about the most popular waters in the Eastern NC region. Preregistration required as space is limited.

For additional information and to register for this class, contact Karl Mielenhausen, 252 638 1433, kmielen@gmail.com
