Take and pass this boater safety course and carry a boater education certification card. This one-day class will take place at Carteret Community College, the North Carolina Marine Training and Education Center and Marine Propulsion Boat Manufacturing Marine Systems Building (MARTEC Building), Room 101, 3505 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC.

This United States Coast Guard course covers the following topics:

• Introduction to Boating
• Boating Law
• Boat Safety Equipment
• Safe Boating
• Navigation
• Boating Problems
• Trailering
• Storing and Protecting Your Boat
• Hunting and fishing
• Waterskiing
• River boating

This course satisfies the North Carolina boating safety education requirement and is required for any person to operate a vessel who was born after Jan. 1, 1998. There is no minimum age for the course.

Boat America is the replacement course for About Boating Safely.

There will be one session on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., MARTEC Building Room 120, Carteret Community College, 3505 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC. Register your interest here.

Cost is $40 per person, and $65 for 2 family members sharing a text. Registration includes textbook and the Certificate provided in class.  NO FEE for USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 054-20-02 members and their immediate family.
