Three of five COVID-19 deaths in Craven County over the past week involved patient at PruittHealth skilled nursing facilities in New Bern, according to data provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

Two more patients from PruittHealth-Trent died this week, bringing the death toll at the facility to six. PruittHealth-Neuse reported its first death.

PruittHealth-Trent is located at 836 Hospital Drive and PruttHealth-Neuse is located at 1303 Health Drive, both roughly across the street from CarolinaEast Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Cherry Point Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Havelock was removed from the list of outbreaks, having contained its cases to two staff and no patients.

No additional cases were reported at Riverfront Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Old Cherry Point Road in New Bern.

Craven County has 807 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 12:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14.

Of those, 606 have recovered and 183 are active, a decline of 17 cases over the past 24 hours.

Hospitalizations also declined over the past 24 hours, going from 14 to 10, and there were no new deaths.

Of the 807 cases, 12 were related to out-of-state travel, 160 are from community transmission, 563 are a direct contact from a previously confirmed positive, and 72 are under investigation.
