When you’re in the mood to dine out, check out the Grill at Prohibition.

The space has grown from a small cocktail bar to a full service indoor and outdoor dining experience.

“At the beginning of 2020, the Grill at Prohibition developed a great new menu with an eye toward nightly dinner,” said the owner, Chris Straight. “The menu is so varied that there’s something for everybody.”

Indeed, it is a menu that leaves nothing out. You can satisfy every culinary craving at the Grill at Prohibition.

If you love dinner straight off the grill, try the tender 6 oz Signature Sirloin or the dry-aged 10 oz  Ribeye. Both are sprinkled with house seasoning and grilled to perfection. The Steakhouse Chicken Flame-grilled chicken is an equally delicious lighter choice.

If Mexican food is your favorite, you will enjoy the Asian Shrimp Tacos or a good old order of sizzling fajitas.

The grill now features hand-tossed pizza. The dough is made in-house by hand, and it comes with your choice of toppings. Philly Cheesesteaks, hot ham and cheeses, chicken parmesan subs, custom burgers or vegan burgers with your choice of bread and toppings, and three types of deep-fried burgers.

The restaurant’s menu is so extensive, it even offers a selection of comfort foods like mac and cheese and hot hamburger plate with fries and beef gravy.

  • The Grill at Prohibition is open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Children 12 years old and under eat free with the purchase of an entrée (limit one free meal per entree.)

Prohibition has the distinction of being the first cocktail bar in New Bern. The bar is going strong, with a rotating selection of over 20 craft and North Carolina beers, over 100 whiskeys, and 30 North Carolina spirits.

Thursday through Saturday, an upstairs whisky bar is open. The accompanying lounge is always open and is a great space to rent out for large parties.

The Grill at Prohibition also offers weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Order brunch items such as French Toast, Shrimp and Grits, and Pigs in a Blanket, and enjoy them with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary.

“Outdoor dining is in demand these days and our partially covered, partially heated patio is open year-round,” said Straight.

“It offers a full outdoor bar and a full-service menu. The patio is great place to come for dinner and conversation.”
