Small Batch Gallery + Goods would not have been created without inspiration from Shannon LuQuire’s marketing consulting and design firm, Trade Ideas.
The seed was planted when Trade Ideas’ clients needed some advice when choosing gifts for their own clients.
As she helped them, LuQuire discovered she has a knack for curating thoughtful and original baskets, and Small Batch germinated into the fun, thriving shop on the second floor of the Dunn Building, 250 Pollock Street, corner of Pollock and Craven streets, Downtown New Bern.
LuQuire discovers products for their gift baskets primarily through Instagram or through referrals from customers, and harnesses the power of word of mouth.
Most all of the items she discovers, such as hand-crafted pottery, textiles, glassware, barware, fine art photos and prints, crafted soaps, lotions, and candles, to name a few, are made in the United States, and she has a direct relationship with every maker.
She carries candles made in Raeford by D’Shawn Russell, another woman-owned business, for example, and her olive oil is crafted by Nina Khanna who visited Spain with her husband, fell in love with an olive farm and bought it. She currently lives in Charlotte, but visits the farm several times a year.
“There’s a special story behind each one,” she says. If she finds a product she likes, she buys a small quantity of it, hence the name of the store.
The magic behind Small Batch is the creative combination of these unique, small treasures into ultimate gifts and gift baskets complete with signature wrapping that features grosgrain or satin ribbons. The baskets are perfect for corporate gifts, wedding welcomes, bridal parties, and everyday gifting. They are suitable for nearly every occasion.
Small Batch offers many ways to help you create the perfect gift. Come to the store and peruse the products that are elegantly and logically arranged. Smell the candles. Ask questions. Pick out a combination of gifts while you’re there, and the staff will transform them into a gift basket. You can even bring in an item from another place to be combined with items from the store.
Another option is to call Small Batch with your price point and ideas, and the staff can create something marvelous, wrap it, and either ship it for you, or deliver it to you curbside or local delivery.
The number of customer service options is surpassed only by the store’s variety of holiday gift options, making Small Batch a terrific first stop for your holiday gifting needs. Pick and choose what you want and either pick it up curbside or have it wrapped and sent.
