Camp Noah is a nationally recognized preparedness and resiliency day camp offered to elementary age children in communities impacted by a disaster or crisis. Camp Noah provides a safe and caring environment where children build resiliency skills within the familiarity of their own communities. They use a proven curriculum designed to help children process their disaster and/or trauma experience through creative activities and play. Camp Noah celebrates every child as special. Camp Noah is a program of Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota.
This program is greatly needed after the impacts of Hurricane Florence hit New Bern and the surrounding areas so hard.
Camp Noah’s Regional Coordinator Becky Loathe will be in attendance.
Scholars and their families will be treated to Award-winning Chef Smoke and the Flame ‘Kitchen On Wheels food truck for dinner.
Scholars will also receive moving boxes for moving to their new grades. Boxes will include textbooks, school supplies, snack bags, calming affirmations, and more. Families will be checking out Chromebooks as well as tables to set up their learning spaces at home.
