There was a city wide GiveAway at Five Points on Saturday that drew hundreds of people Saturday.

The giveaway included food, personal hygiene Items, diapers, wipes, new clothes, coats and jackets, household Items, and furniture provided by Combined Unified Services,

The event was organized by Combined Unified Services Director Judy Toney of Fayetteville, N.C., in collaboration with Ephesus SDA Church, New Bern, Pastor Patrick Tyrill, and former New Bern Alderman Barbara Best and current New Bern Alderwoman Jamesha Harris.

The event was held at 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at large grassy vacant lot at Five Points near Downtown New Bern.

Masks and social distance was encouraged.
