A former New Bern police officer who was working on his law degree was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday.
Joshua “Josh” Jensen was a veteran, a former police officer, and an employee at Paddy’s Irish Pub in Springfield, Mass., while he was attending Western New England University Law School.
“Josh was suddenly taken away from us in a tragic motorcycle accident earlier this morning,” his co-workers posted. “His love for life, genuine admiration for all, and drive towards success was undeniably true in all forms.”
“Josh was quick to help a hand, a very good listener and always told the best stories. We are devastated here at Paddy’s to loose someone who we loved so much. We would like to share our love and prayers to all mourning the loss of Josh. We are all luckier to have had him in our lives, rest easy my friend.”
The New Bern Police Department also noted his passing in a Facebook post.
“It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of former New Bern Police Officer Joshua ‘Josh’ Jensen. Josh proudly served his country before serving the citizens of New Bern. Josh resigned his position as a police officer to pursue law school in which he was actively studying. Thank you Josh for your dedication, service, and friendship to all of us in the NBPD. The city of New Bern along with the NBPD already missed you, and now you will be forever in our hearts.”
