The individual had underlying health conditions. The 45th Craven County resident to die from complications related to COVID-19 died on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020. The individual was tested for COVID-19 on Sept. 22, 2020 and resulted positive on Sept. 24, 2020. The death was reported to the Craven County Health Department on Oct. 6, 2020. The individual had underlying health conditions. To protect family privacy, no further information about the individuals will be released.

There have been 46 deaths related to COVID-19. Twenty-two of the active COVID-19 cases are hospitalized.
