Craven County declared a State of Emergency in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaias to be effective at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, in preparation for tropical storm conditions such as high winds and heavy rain.
All citizens, law enforcement and emergency response personnel are encouraged to cooperate with all safety measures being taken and abide by any restrictions which may become necessary to overcome the emergency situation.
On Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, the Craven County Management Team and Emergency Services Team initiated calls with preparedness partners and fire rescue personnel for emergency preparations for Tropical Storm Isaias. Craven County Emergency Director Stanley Kite briefed the audience on conditions and the projected path of the storm. Further coordination will continue through the duration of the event.
“Craven County is taking steps to prepare for the worst while continuing to hope for the best,” stated Jack Veit, Craven County Manager.
