Craven County has 5,040 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, ending the year at a sobering milestone, as well as breaking a new record: highest number of active cases so far.

Craven County has 963 active cases and 26 hospitalized.

There were 101 new cases between Wednesday and Thursday.

Meanwhile, 3,994 individuals have recovered or are presumed recovered based on guidelines set by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

The death toll ended the year at 83.

As of January 1, 2021, the Craven County Health Department will no longer publish daily reports on COVID-19 cases in Craven County. Each Friday, Craven County COVID-19 hospitalization data will be released along with a link to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) COVID-19 Dashboard.

The NCDHHS COVID-19 Dashboard provides extensive statewide and county level data on COVID-19 cases and testing. County level COVID-19 demographic data is also available on the NCDHHS COVID-19 Dashboard. Demographic information is available for COVID-19 cases and deaths.

  1. Strange how online censorshipworks? If we all submit only positive comments that liberal media approves then it does not get censored? Probably…website sponsors should be pleased? Maybe we could try “fair and balanced” but probably not as dissenting opinion does not appear to be welcome here.
