Craven County has 1,443 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of noon on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, adding 40 new cases since noon Friday.
The county has 307 active cases, although the number of deaths and the number of hospitalized cases remained unchanged over the weekend.
Of the newest cases, 18 additional cases were confirmed on Sept. 18, 2020, 12 on Sept. 19, 2020, and 10 on Sept. 20, 2020.
Out of the 1,443 confirmed positive cases, 1,105 have recovered.
Of the 1,443 cases, 18 have been related to out-of-state travel, 223 are from community transmission, 946 are direct contact with a previously confirmed positive case, 195 are still being investigated, and 61 are unknown.
There have been 31 deaths related to COVID-19. Seventeen of the active COVID-19 cases are currently hospitalized.
