Craven County’s COVID-19 cases rose to 31 on Wednesday, overtaking Onslow County even though it is a much smaller county by population.
Onslow County has a population of 177,772. Craven County has a population of 103,505.
The State Department of Health and Human Services reported that Craven County had 31 confirmed cases of COVID-29. A reported issued by the Craven County Health Department earlier Wednesday put the county’s number of confirmed cases at 30.
Craven has been adding two new cases each day for the past four days, following a fairly stead period of one new case per day. Craven County had one confirmed case on March 14. Since then, the number has grown to 31 cases with one death, an unidentified employee at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
